Brewer Parks & Recreation Department
Partners With Area Businesses

The Brewer Parks & Recreation Department is currently extending an invitation to local businesses and industries to partner in an effort to provide financial support for the Brewer Auditorium and recreation programs through an advertising campaign that proves beneficial to both entities.

The program involves installing attractive 3’x7’ banners in selected areas of the auditorium gymnasium for an annual fee. With the auditorium open to the public during the winter hours an average of 90 hours a week and 60-75 hours a week at other times of the year, a participating sponsor receives high visibility from the thousands of individuals using the facility.  In addition, the sponsor will receive 10 days of recognition on the auditorium marquees located on State and Wilson Streets, as well as advertising space in the department’s summer program brochure.

A maximum of 12 banners will be permitted on the main floor of the auditorium allowing maximum exposure to the public that participate in athletic, recreational, and cultural programs; as well as public events such as craft fairs, concerts, elections, and numerous private rentals. It is intended that the banners are a non-public forum and, therefore, certain limits apply.

Ken Hanscom, Director of Parks & Recreation can be reached at 989-5199 to discuss further details with area businesses interested in becoming partners with the Parks & Recreation Department; as it strives to offer quality programs and facilities for the citizens of Brewer.

Trans-Tech of Brewer, is the first Brewer business to participate in the program and their banner is shown as it is displayed in the auditorium, adjacent to the main floor stage.

Trans-Tech relocated to Brewer in August 1999 after spending 15 years in Southwest Harbor. Since the relocation they have expanded their staff to 58 employees.

Located in the East West Industrial Park, Brewer, Trans-Tech has a modern 43,000 sq. foot manufacturing facility featuring state of the art equipment and the highest engineering standards.

Trans-Tech manufactures aluminum truck mounted tanks and trailers for petroleum products such as home heating fuel, aviation fuel and various other fuel transporting vehicles.

Trans-Tech products are disturbed throughout the Eastern region of the United States.
