Curbside Trash Requirements

The City of Brewer and the Code Enforcement Office are faced with an ongoing problem with the placing of trash for curbside pickup out too early. The City’s Solid Waste ordinance reads that “Trash may not be placed curbside for collection before 7:00a.m. on the day of collection for your area.” As the City has many multi-family dwellings, that may or may not be owner occupied, it is the property owner’s responsibility to notify his or her tenants of the correct collection day. It is also important that all property owners provide approved containers with covers to store garbage and trash in until the day for curbside collection.
