Attention residents of State Street and Pierce Road

2010 Street Work Notification

The Maine Department of Transportation is planning to complete paving projects on State Street (between Eastern Avenue and Wilson Street) and on all of Pierce Road this summer, 2010. Once these jobs are completed there will be a three year moratorium during which no permits will be issued for digging within the newly paved areas. Any residents or businesses that may have plans to install sewer, water or other utilities in the paved areas of these roads should plan to complete this work no later than June 30, 2010. Questions about the scope of the project should be directed to our City Engineer, Frank Higgins, at 989-7800. Attached are notifications from the MDOT detailing the scope of each project.
