Building Permits

Building Permit - 1) new structure; 2) expansion of an existing structure; 3) structural repair or alteration; 4) removing or adding wall; 5) changing window or door size; 6) fence; 7) deck; 8) building demolition; and 9) moving a building.

New Residential Construction, new additions:

$5.00 per $1,000.00 based on construction costs of
$55.00 per square foot.

Example: 28 x 38 = 1,064 sq. ft. x  $55 = $58,520.00 
($5.00 per $1,000.00) x .005 =  $292.60 =

Residential Remodeling 
(garages, fences, decks, swimming pools, foundations & manufactured homes):

$35.00 minimum plus $5.00 per $1,000.00 of construction cost over $1,500.00

Example: $20,000.00 (cost) - $1,500.00 (minimum) = $18,500.00
$18,500 x .005 = $92.50 + $35.00 (minimum) = $127.50 =

New Non-Residential, additions:

Based on construction costs of $55.00 per square foot. $5.00 per
1,000 sq. ft. up to 10,000 square feet and $4.00 per 1,000 from 10,001 to 20,000 sq. ft. and $2.00 per 1,000` above 20,000 sq. ft.

Example:           25,000 square foot building.
10,000 x $55.00 = $450,000 x .005 = $2,750.00
10,000 x $55.00 = $450,000 x .004 = $2,200.00
  5,000 x $55.00 = $225,000 x .002 = $   550.00

Non-Residential – including, but not limited to, remodeling, additions, alterations, fences, concrete slabs, canopies and accessory structures.

$50.00 minimum plus $5.00 per $1,000.00 of construction / improvement costs over $1,500.00

Example: $20,000.00 (cost) - $1,500.00 (minimum) = $18,500.00
