REQUESTS FOR BID

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS 

Bids are requested for the resurfacing of certain streets for the City of Brewer.

The project may include the grinding or full depth reclamation of existing road surface, furnishing and placement of hot bituminous concrete shims and overlays on existing City streets, parking areas and walkways. Total tonnage is estimated to be 4600 tons and total areas to be ground or reclaimed are estimated to be 45,000 square yards.

Interested bidders may obtain bid information and specifications for the project by contacting Brewer Public Works at (207) 989-7800.  For consideration, the attached bid form must be sealed in an envelope, distinctly marked, “2010 RESURFACING BID” and must be received at the Office of Ricci More, Brewer Public Works Dept., 221 Green Point Road, Brewer, ME by 2:00 PM, Friday, September 10, 2010.  Any bids received after the date and time specified will not be allowed.  A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 1:00 pm, September 7, 2010 at Brewer Engineering Dept. located at 221 Green Point Road, Brewer, Maine.. 

The paving and/or grinding of said City streets shall not commence until such time as the Contractor receives a notice to proceed from the City Engineer or his designee.  The City of Brewer, Maine holds the exclusive right to reject or accept all or part of any or all bids received.
